Starting Over

“We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act, but a habit.”

~Aristotle

When you are ready to release yourself from repetitive dieting or overeating, the following exercise will guide you through the process of identifying, respecting and satisfying your hunger as well as re-learning to honor yourself and trust your own word. I have also added movement and strength training as a reminder and as a way to honor your body.

Recognize and acknowledge the damage that dieting causes

Be aware of dieting mentality and thinking:
Forget Willpower
Forget Obedience
Forget Failure
Instead, create a winning personal plan

Get rid of all dieting tools

Listen to yourself and honor your hunger

Practice eating naturally

Make peace with food

Buy and enjoy the foods you like

Regain your pleasure in eating:
Ask yourself what you really want to eat?
Discover the pleasures of the palate
Make your eating experience more enjoyable

Don’t settle, check in:
Does it still taste good?

Also:
Drink 8 glasses of water a day

Engage in a choice of:
Aerobic Activity 5-6 times a week
Commit to Strength Training 2-3 times a week
