Interpersonal Mindfulness

"We are joined in our humanness. With generosity, we are present for each other. Together, we remember our humanity as well as our mystery."

~Gregory Kramer, Meditating Together, Speaking from Silence

Do you long to see things clearly and cultivate a life of caring and compassion?

Are you wishing to integrate meditative calm and clarity into your work in the world?

Are you ready to listen deeply and speak your truth?

Interpersonal Mindfulness is designed to be a deep and trustable practice and resource in developing calmness, clarity and wisdom in relating with others. It is a methodical approach to developing and maintaining a mindful way of being when engaged in the everyday challenges of relationship and words.

Through presentation, mindfulness meditation and dialogue, we discover, while speaking to one another, how to ease the mind, let go of beliefs of how things should be, and release long held fears and attachments. As we bring awareness and acceptance into dialogue, individual change and transformation is joined by new possibility in relationships. Release from interpersonal pain and discomfort is not only possible but is often an outcome of this practice.

Interpersonal Mindfulness (IM) brings the awareness and tranquility of stillness directly into our experience with others. Within this face-to-face practice, we are invited to let go of previously held entanglements and confusion. In doing so, we experience the joy and freedom of authentic and meaningful communication and the ability to navigate turbulent times with grace and wisdom.

IM may be helpful in a variety of environments or groups where meditation is not familiar. Work groups, boards of directors, teams of nurses or physicians, social activists and artistic collaborators, for starters, may find the experience of IM powerful and illuminating.
